but its end is the way to death." Proverbs 16:25
I can't speak for you, but I know I have been guilty of "handling things my way" especially when it seems that God is conspicuously quiet during my times of need. In moments of great stress and pain, our tendency is to just do "something, anything." But sometimes the thing to do is nothing at all. Nothing is doing something when you consciously decide to do "nothing' in order to get your breath, develop a strategy or gather more information about what to do next. Being silent is the posture to assume until clearer next steps are revealed. Many a person, and even so-called movements, have lost momentum and credibility because little, to no, long range planning was observed.
Whatever you are facing today, it deserves a moment of constructive reflection. In the multitude of counselors, there is safety, says the scriptures (Proverbs 11:14). Step back from the situation for a moment or two. Take time to pray, gather with others to gain a better perspective. Sit down, quiet your mind. Listen to you spirit.
This seat is for you.
